We love this Anne Hanson design! It combines easy, mindless stockinette knitting in the body with fun textured stitches in the cuffs, neck, and hem. The result can look casual or formal, depending on what you wear it with. The pattern is versatile, too! We're kitting the project for the cropped length/long sleeve version with crew neck and no pockets as shown in the photo but the pattern includes instructions for a tunic length version as well as for making short sleeves, a V-neck, and optional pockets. The sweater is worked from the bottom up in one piece. The sleeves are worked first and then the body. They are joined together with raglan shaping at the shoulders. The finished chest measurements are 29 (33, 37, 41, 45, 49) [53, 57, 61, 65, 69]" with finished lengths for the cropped version of 21.25 (21.75, 22.25, 22.75, 23.75, 24.5) [25.5, 26.25, 27.25, 28.25, 29.25]". This sweater can be hand washed in cold water and dried flat. We'd recommend this sweater for someone who has made a basic sweater before and is looking for something a little more challenging but not overwhelming.

We knit our sweater using Lana Bouclé, made by the Brown Sheep Company in Nebraska. Lana Bouclé is a spiral yarn blending 97% wool and 3% nylon. It is lofty and warm, knitting up with a fun squishy feeling. The stockinette stich areas of the sweater have a subtle pebbly look but the texture of the yarn does not interfere with the stitchwork--it still stands out! Lana Bouclé is knit at 4 stitches per inch in stockinette in this project.
