The drums on the Ashford carder are adjustable so that you can card various fine to coarse fibers. The heavy duty drive band is durable and efficient; the frame is made from the same silver beech hardwood Ashford uses for spinning wheels; the carder comes lacquered and assembled. You can choose between two carding cloths: the 72 point fine cloth for finer wools and 120 superfine cloth for angora, cashmere, alpaca, and Merino. The carder weighs only 11 pounds. Standard with these carders:

• two carding ratios, 6:1 and 4:1
• large drum to produce a bat 8" wide x 24" long, weighing 2 oz
• adjustable drum
• clamps and doffer pin
