This knitting class is suitable for knitters who have been actively knitting and would like to expand their technical skills. If you know how to knit, but it has been a few years since you picked up needles and yarn, please take the Introduction to Knitting class first.

Anatomy of a Stitch

Oct. 10 (Sat.) 10 a.m.-noon. 2 weeks

IHave you ever wanted to really understand how knit stitches work? Why do knit and purl stitches look and work differently? What if you knit through the back loop? What IS the "back loop?" Get really intimate with your craft and learn how basic stitches work. You will create a gamp of stitches with an eye toward designing your own small project. We'll cover terminology like "garter stitch" and simple combinations of stitches to create two-row patterns such as a "ribbing," "garter lace," "linen stitch," and "purse stitch." By Carla Tilghman.

PARKING: The parking garage is located at 927 New Hampshire Street. Top level parking is free. Level 2 parking is $2.00 to park 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Street level and basement level parking is limited to 2 hours. Pay stations are located at each stairwell on the street level. Sunday parking is free downtown.
