Detailed Description

Alpaca is a pleasure to weave and a pleasure to wear. In Alpaca Angles, we've used a natural color of alpaca for the majority of the warp, sett at 15 epi, and a dyed alpaca for stripes in the warp and the weft. The structure is a 4-harness twill variation that has a subtle zig-zag design in the center panel and more obvious diagonal lines on either side. Our scarf was woven on a table loom and measures 10.5" x 78" plus fringe. If woven on a floor loom, it would be slightly shorter due to the additional loom waste. The scarf can be hand washed and dried flat after a short tumble in the dryer.

You will need:

  • 10.5" weaving width
  • 4 harnesses
  • 10 or 15 dent reed
  • 153 heddles
  • boat shuttle and bobbin

We wove our scarf using Prime Alpaca in Black and Heather Prime Alpaca in 209 Redwood.
