This cardigan is all-around cozy, from its generous shawl collar to its practical pockets. It is knit using a large-scale rib for the body and sleeves with a basketweave-type box stitch on the collar and pockets. The back, fronts, sleeves, and pockets are worked separately. A 3-needle bind-off joins the shoulders and a single crochet edging finishes the lower edge. It is sized to fit actual bust measurements of 34 (38, 42, 46)" with garment measurements of approximately 4" more. Designed by Barry Klein.
The coziness of the sweater is enhanced by the yarn used--Trendsetter's Icon. Icon is made from several different fine strands of yarn plied together. One is slightly loopy, one is fluffy alpaca, and another carries tiny sequins to give a hint of sparkle. The overall look is a fine light-colored core with a fluffy haze on the surface. It is a worsted weight yarn, knit here at 4.5 stitches per inch in the large rib stitch.
