Kaffe Fassett is beloved for sweaters just like this one--a fairly straightforward shape but with dynamic color use. In Lady of the Lake, the colorwork is reminiscent of the traditional flying geese quilt block but the colors are somehow both dramatic and whimsical. The colorwork combines both the intarsia and Fair Isle techniques. The back, front, and set-in sleeves are knit flat and then joined at the shoulder. Stitches are picked up and worked flat in rib for the neckband, then the shoulder and neck are seamed. Finished chest measurements are 37 (41, 45, 49, 53)" with finished lengths of 23 (24, 25, 25.5, 26.5)".
Lady of the Lake is knit using a Rowan yarn that has been a favorite for years: Felted Tweed. It is a blend of 50% Merino wool, 25% alpaca, and 25% viscose spun into a DK weight yarn. It has a soft hand and beautiful tweeded colors. Best of all, it can be machine washed and dried flat.
The kit includes the yarn and the complete pattern book Kaffe's Colours. For this project you will also need:
