Double Rainbow: A 3-day workshop
Sept. 7-9 (Sat.-Mon.) 10 a.m.- 5 p.m., 3 days
Explore the amazing range of color effects you can get with just six colors as you weave the ultimate sampler!
Jennifer Moore is the author of Doubleweave (The Weaver’s Studio) and teaches workshops for conferences, guilds, and shops all across the US. She has designed a new workshop that will teach you how a 2-layer fabric will mix and match colors to create iridescence, moiré patterns, and unique color blends. You will also get to experiment with single-layer weave structures like warp rep and warp-faced twills. Your sampler will be woven in six colors of 5/2 perle cotton in one of the following combinations: "rainbow," "jewel,", or "floral" shades. This workshop is suitable for 4-or 8-harness looms.
Threading you loom yourself but still want to make things easy? Order a color pack from us!
The fine print: If you must cancel your enrollment, you may do so up until July 15 for a full refund. After July 15, your refund would be less $50. No refunds are available after August 1 unless a replacement is found. If someone takes your place, the $50 refund fee would still be incurred.
Loom rental fees are not refundable after the loom is threaded.
Lodging: Lawrence is a busy town and the weekend of this class is no exception. If you will be staying at a hotel in town, make your reservations early. For lodging suggestions as well as ideas for activities for other people who may be interested in traveling with you but not in taking a weaving class, go to Unmistakably Lawrence. Lawrence has enough activities for all ages and interests to keep even non-fiber enthusiasts entertained for the weekend.
Parking: It is easiest to park in the garage behind the store. You can access the garage from New Hampshire St. (one block to the east of Massachusetts St.).The lower and ground levels are free for 2 hrs; after that time you will get a $5.00 parking ticket. Level 2 is $1.00 to park all day. Note the number on the wall of the stall; then follow the directions for payment at any of the pedestrian exits from the garage. Parking is always free on the top floor; all parking is free on Sunday. If you are dropping off a loom for the class, just pull up to our back door in the alley, drop off the loom, and then park in the garage. (Please note that the alley is one way--going from the south to north--so you should enter it from 10th St.)
