Donegal Tweed has been a favorite of ours at the Yarn Barn for many years. The color line has changed over time but the great rustic quality has stayed the same. Donegal Tweed is a single-ply yarn with flecks of several bright contrast colors throughout. It is heavy enough to make a great outdoor jacket but stylish enough for a work cardigan and an ideal way to show off a traditional design. It isn't the softest wool that we have but it isn't meant to be used for baby booties. It is designed for long-wearing sweaters that hold their shape well with little pilling.
Donegal Tweed comes in a reeled hank, which must be wound into a ball before use. We are happy to wind the yarn for you at no charge, but this does make the yarn non-returnable. If you would like your skeins wound, please request it in the "Shipping Instructions" box during the checkout process.
