Crosshatch uses the traditional brioche stitch but gives it new life by using two yarns that differ in both size and color. Worsted weight Shelter and fingering weight Loft work together to create a herringbone pattern. The 4-row repeat is given with two different edging options: garter stitch and self edging. Finished measurements after blocking are 28" x 84". The sweater can be hand washed and dried flat. Brooklyn Tweed has assigned this Jared Flood design a skill level rating of 3 out of 5.
The Crosshatch Wrap uses Shelter and Loft, two of Brooklyn Tweed's yarns spun from US-produced Columbia-Targhee wool. Both are woolen-spun yarns with a soft hand and slight fuzzy halo after wet blocking. They knit up into fabrics that are lightweight and very warm. The pattern is found in the Brooklyn Tweed book Woolens: A Book of Knitted Accessories by Jared Flood. The book includes 11 patterns for scarves, cowls, shawls, and hats all using the Brooklyn Tweed yarns.
The kit includes the pattern book Woolens and yarn. For this project you will also need:
