We fell hard for Abayomi. We love its dramatic length, shawl collar, and pretty lace panels. The back, two fronts, and sleeves are worked flat separately and then joined. A 30-stitch, 32-row lace repeat is worked on the back and fronts following a chart. Half of the neck back is worked with each front and the two parts are joined using a 3-needle bind-off. The cardigan is designed to be worn with 4-6" of ease. Finished chest measurements are 32 (34, 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56)" with finished lengths of 37.5" for all sizes. It can be hand washed and dried flat. Berroco rates this Donna Yacino design as requiring intermediate skill level.
Berroco's Quechua is idea for patternwork. It has a smooth surface with clearly-defined twist that looks terrific in lacework like this. It is a sport weight yarn that is knit a little loosely in this design for maximum drape.
