NOTE: The weaving classes listed below are designed for those who have threaded a 4-harness loom, can follow a draft and weave independently. If you have not woven in a few years, we recommend that you take a Beginning Weave class first.
DOUBLE WEAVE BLANKET
This semester we are making our blanket class 3 days long so that you can learn the entire process for weaving a double width project. You learn how to measure your warp, thread it, and weave a blanket approximately 48 x 72. You need to select your yarn at least a week in advance to make sure we have enough stock available in time for class. Since this is a slow to weave project, you can bring your own loom (26 or wider 4-or-more harnesses with 8-dent reed) to use and take it home if you dont finish weaving. If renting a loom, come back during the immediate following week to finish weaving your blanket. By Susan Bateman and MaryMargaret Eisfelder.

We are offering a three day class to give you an in-depth lesson on color-and-weave. You will learn how to measure your warp with alternating colors without tangling, thread it in a basic twill and point twill, and weave it using 15 different treadling patterns. You will use 3/2 Perle Cotton in two highly contrasting colors plus black or white; these can be purchased in advance or on the day of the class. Since this is a complex and slow to weave project, you can bring your own loom (12 or wider 4-harness with 12 dent reed) or rent one of ours. Finished sampler is 11.5 wide x 57 long and includes 45 different patterns! If renting a loom, come back during the immediate following week to finish weaving your sampler.
