Zest Ruffled Scarf
Susan Mills designed this scarf that starts out simple and finishes with a flourish. The underlying scarf is knit in garter stitch, starting in one corner and continuing on the diagonal throughout the scarf. Once it is complete, stitches are picked up and knit along selected garter stitch ridges and worked to make the ruffles. The ruffles embellish the top side only, for 18" from each end, with the center section left plain. The finished scarf measures approximately 4" wide and 72" long after blocking.
Zest uses Vail from Classic Elite. It is an undyed yarn composed of 70% baby alpaca and 30% rayon from bamboo. The blend is warm and soft, with the perfect drape for a scarf. It comes in natural heathers of cream, gray, and brown.
The kit includes the pattern and the yarn. You will also need single point needles in size US 3 OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
