Variegated Cap and Scarf

Enjoy working with two weights of self-striping yarn fot this set--fingering weight Mini Mochi for the hat and Aran weight Mochi Plus for the scarf.

This Fair Isle hat actually uses 2 balls of one color for the colorwork. You just start the skeins from two different color locations within the skein and let the colors fall as will. This Sandi Rosner design is great fun to knit as you get to be surprised when colors meet each other! The alternate origami fold at the crown of the hat will be one you will want to keep in mind for other projects, too. If you want a traditional decreasing crown, those directions are also listed in the pattern. Finished hat circumference sizes are 17 (19.75, 22.5)".  Directions are also given for Fair Isle mittens.  If you would like to make these which are not included in our kit, just add 2 more skeins of Mini Mochi.

For the scarf, you simply knit a ribbed pattern for the length of the scarf in a similar color of Mochi Plus. Finished scarf is 5.5" x 70".

The yarns used are Crystal Palace's Mini Mochi and Mochi Plus. Both yarns are made of 80% superwash Merino wool and 20% nylon. They can be machine washed and dried flat.

This kit includes the yarn and pattern. You will also need:

• 16" circular needle in size US 2 and US 3 OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE for the hat
• Double points in size US 3 if using the decrease crown method (not needed for origami crown)
• Single point needles in size US 10.5 for scarf
• 12 stitch markers
