Top-Down Swing Pullover in Highland
Knitting Pure & Simple specializes in easy and fun designs. This flared pullover would be a great beginner's sweater. It is knit at 4 stitches per inch for a loose, drapey fabric, so the knitting goes quickly. The knitting begins at the neck edge and works down. The sleeve stitches are held on a strand of waste yarn while the rest of the body is completed. Stitches are picked up and knit for the neck edging. The live sleeve stitches are joined by picked up stitches and the sleeves are worked down to the cuff using circular or double point needles. This sweater comes in six sizes with finished chest measurements of 32 (36, 40, 44, 48, 52)". Finished lengths are 26.5 (27, 28, 28.5, 29, 30)".
This sweater is designed for worsted weight yarn, so we are kitting it in Harrisville Designs' Highland. Highland is a 100% wool yarn, dyed and spun in Harrisville, New Hampshire. The color line is extensive, including neutrals, brights, dark, rich colors, and even a few pastels. Most of the shades are heathers, adding depth to the color. Your Highland sweater can be hand washed and dried flat.
