Teen Yoke Pullover
When your teen wants something a little more grown-up, suggest this sweater. It is a classic yoke pullover, but sized for a teen. Knit from the top down in the round, the work begins at the garter stitch neck. The stitches increase to shape the shoulders, then stitches are put on holders for the sleeves while the rest of the body is knit. The body ends with a garter stitch edging. The live stitches at the armhole are combined with picked up stitches to complete the sleeves, which have a garter stitch cuff. The underarm seams are sewn and you are done! The finished chest measurements are 29 (31, 33, 35)" and finished lengths are 18 (19, 20, 21)".
This pullover is designed for Encore Worsted Colorspun from Plymouth Yarns. It is a blend of 75% acrylic and 25% superwash wool. It is a classic worsted weight, knitting at 5 stitches to the inch. Because it can be machine washed and dried, it is a fantastic choice for kids' sweaters. The color combinations are fun and include variegated, spotted, or ragg-style combinations.
