The Philadelphia Duster is a great layering piece for spring and fall. It has a loose, casual fit, swinging shape, and a fun pleat in the back for extra fullness. Designed by Teresa Chorzepa, it is worked in one piece from the top down, with raglan shaping for the shoulders. At the armholes, the sleeve stitches are put on a holder while the rest of the body is worked. Then the sleeves are worked downward on double point needles. To create the pebbly surface of the sweater, the majority of the sweater is knit in seed stitch and a textured yarn, Ripple, is used. Ripple is a 100% mercerized cotton knitted mesh with a thick-and-thin style. The finished chest measurements are 40 (43, 44.5, 47.5, 49, 53)" with lengths of 30.5 (31.25, 31.5, 32.25, 32.75, 33.5)". The sweater can be hand washed and dried flat.
