This video follows Diana’s book, Temari: How to Make Japanese Thread Balls. Thread-wrapped Temari balls are based upon three divisions (the Polar Divisions) of the ball: the north pole, the south pole, and the equator. The ball is wrapped with thread from location to location, building designs from these three divisions. The two other fundamental divisions are double 8ths (which places the 6 square sides of a cube onto the ball) and pentagons (which applies 12 equal pentagons). Many projects are given in this video from start to finish. This is a great teaching resource for adults and children. 138 min.
