Sweater, Hat, and Scarf in Marble ChunkyThis Marble Chunky trio would make a great beginner's project. Start with the scarf and practice knitting and purling with a simple rib. Next, try out some simple shaping with the ribbed hat, which is knit flat and then the seam sewn from ribbing to crown. When those are under your belt, you are ready for the sweater. It starts with ribbing, but the majority of the work is stockinette. The back, front, and sleeves are knit separately. The right shoulder is sewn first, then the stitches are picked up and worked flat for the neckband. Finally, the remaining seams are sewn. The sweater comes in 6 sizes, with finished chest measurements of 39.75 (42, 43.25, 45.75, 47.75, 50)". Finished lengths are 28 (28, 28.25, 28.75, 29.25, 29.5)".
Marble Chunky is a 100% acrylic, machine washable yarn. It is a bulky yarn, knitting at 3.5 stitches per inch in stockinette. It is a two-ply yarn and each ply is variegated, so the overall effect is of constant blending of colors. It comes in rich colors, brights, and neutrals.
