Rosina Mittens
The Rosina Mittens were designed by Norah Gaughan to be knit in Ultra Alpaca. The mittens are worked on double pointed needles, starting at the cuff, which is worked in a twisted rib. A gusset is made for the thumb and then stitches are put on a holder for the thumb. The tips of the mitten are joined with a 3-needle bind off or kitchener stitch, then the stitches for the thumb are picked up and worked. The mittens are for women's size medium, with a 7" circumference and 11" length.
The Rosina mittens were designed for Berroco's Ultra Alpaca. It is a blend of 50% alpaca and 50% wool with a color line that includes lots of dark, rich colors in solids and heathers. It can be hand washed and dried flat.
