Monkey Business Stuffed Toys in Lamb's Pride Worsted
These little guys look as impish as can be, but they won't break things, bite, or throw . . . their weight around. Designed by Chris de Longpré and knit out of Lamb's Pride Worsted, they will stay put and make your room, desk, or office infinitely more cheery. Each monkey is worked mostly in the round, starting with the bottom of the body and working to the top of the head. The mouth, ears, arms, and tail are worked separately, then sewn on. The stuffing occurs as each piece is knit. Each monkey measures about 6" from his little monkey bottom to top of his head.
These monkeys are knit from worsted weight yarn so we are kitting them using Lamb's Pride Worsted from Brown Sheep Yarns. It is a single-ply worsted weight yarn made of 85% wool and 15% mohair. The blend makes the monkeys soft and warm, with a touch of extra fuzz thanks to the mohair. The color line is extensive, with naturals, brights, heathers, and tonal colors to match any setting. The monkeys can be hand washed and air dried (just like real monkeys).
The kit includes the pattern and yarn to make one monkey in your color choice. You will also have enough yarn left over to swap the main and accent colors and make a second monkey friend. For this project you will also need:
- double point needles in size US 6 OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
- tapestry needle
- poly-fill stuffing
- pencil with intact eraser to aid in the stuffing
