Thick and warm but very lightweight, Mika is a hat for both men and women. Its fluttery color design is worked using the Fair Isle method following a chart. The hat is worked in the round using first a circular needle and then double points at the top of the hat. It has a ribbed band and a pompom to top it off. The hat measures approximately 20" around and 9" high, excluding the pompom. Mika can be hand washed and dried flat. Berroco rates this design by Brenda York as requiring an intermediate skill level.
Riasa uses Berroco's yarn Catena. It is a lofty chunky weight yarn spun from 94% extra fine Merino wool and 6% nylon. It is so light and warm that it is idea for any accessories that touch your skin.
