Easy but pretty--that describes Berroco's new cowl design knit in Cotolana. If you have knit a garter stitch scarf before and are feeling adventurous, this might be the perfect project for you. It is still mostly garter stitch but also has an easy knit/purl pattern worked in bands. It starts with a provisional cast on and finishes with grafting the two ends together--two useful techniques to learn and tutorals are easily found on the internet. Mavis is knit using Berroco's Cotolana, a worsted-weight blend of wool and cotton, with a touch of nylon for stability. The cowl measures approximately 14.5" wide x 28" around. It can be machine washed and dried flat.
The kit includes the pattern and yarn. For this project you will also need:
- single point needles in US size 8 OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
- waste yarn for provisional cast-on
- tapestry needle
Mavis is shown in Cotolana color 3504 Poplar. If you would like to use this color, simply order the kit above. If you would like to select your own color, please see our Cotolana page to view the options. Then return to this page, order the kit, and tell us your color choice in the box above.
