Mechanical & Chemical Resists DVD |
|
Part 1 covers mechanical resists used to create surface designs on fabric by screening or submersion dyeing. Although there are many resists which can be painted or screened onto the fabric, potato dextrin is shown in this presentation. You will also learn how to set up a workroom table and how to properly screen dye onto the fabric. Part 2 covers chemical resists to react with the dyes on the fabrics. These resists are used with cellulose fibers; the type of resist varies depending upon the dyes on the fabric. Steaming is usually required. 90 minutes.
