Liddell in Boboli
Some scarves keep you warm, others make a statement. This one does both! Knit in Boboli from Berroco, it takes advantage of the wool-blend yarn for warmth but spices it up with lace borders and pom poms. The borders are knit first. Then stitches are picked up and knit along one edge of the first lace border and worked the length of the scarf in a chunky rib. The second lace border is sewn on. Six pom poms are made from the Boboli and sewn to the edges. The finished measurements are approximately 8" x 64".
Liddell is designed for Berroco's Boboli. This is a 42% wool, 35% acrylic, 23% viscose blend is a worsted weight. What makes it different from other worsted weight yarns is its approach to color: the fiber is dyed prior to spinning, so as the colors blend, there are areas of solid color and areas of heather. The bit of viscose gives this yarn a soft shimmer and the varying colors will produce an elegant fabric. The repeat is fairly short, giving the knitted fabric an all-over color texture rather than striped pattern.
The kit includes the pattern and the yarn. For this project you will also need:
- single point needles in size US 7 OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
