This is one good looking vest. From the crisp stitchwork that evokes the traditional gansey to the shaping options for optimal fit, Hunter is designed to flatter. It is worked in the round from the bottom up, with instructions for a regular or tapered fit at the waist. At the armholes, the front and back are worked flat and then the shoulder seams are sewn together. Stitches are picked up for the neckband and armhole edgings. The stitch patterns are worked following large, clear charts. Finished chest measurements are 38.25 (41, 45.5, 48.25, 52.75, 55.75)" and finished lengths of 25 (25.5, 27, 27.5, 29, 29.25)". The vest can be hand washed and dried flat. Brooklyn Tweed has assigned this Jared Flood design a skill level rating of 3 out of 5.
The Hunter vest uses Arbor, made by Brooklyn Tweed. This is a DK weight yarn that is made using three worsted-spun plies firmly twisted together, creating a smooth yarn with excellent stitch definition.
