Helmet and Scarf in Melody by TahkiQuick to knit and quick to wear when the weather is blistery and cold. Knit in the bulky weight knit-construction yarn called Melody. Th pom-pom adorned garter stitch hat has long enough flaps to keep your ears and neck warm. You make the flaps first and then add on stitches for the base of the hat. The extra long cowl can be worn long as shown or wrapped an extra time around your neck to keep the wind from nipping at your chest. Pom-poms are a nice finishing touch. Finished scarf is 10" x 66". Hat fits a 21-22" head.
This set is knit in Tahki's Melody, a 54% wool, 29% acrylic 17% polyester self-striping yarn. It is knit at 3 stitches per inch in rib and 2.5 stitches per inch in garter stitch. The blend of fibers and colors make it a quite striking yarn with self-striping color effects. It can be hand washed and dried flat.
This kit includes the yarn and pattern. You will also need: - Single point needles in size US 17 for the scarf OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
- Double point needles in size US 15 for the hat
- Single point needles in size US 15 for the ear flaps
- 2 stitch holders or scarp yarn
- 12 stitch markers
- Tapestry needle
