Silk noil is made of the short pieces of silk fiber that are left after long staple silk is spun. The noil still retains a nice drape, but does not have the sheen of spun silk and is not as strong or resilient. It tends to have a rougher hand, and feel somewhat like cotton. Soie Naturelle is made of three plies of silk noil spun together. It would make a terrific fabric for clothing or a rustic-looking scarf.
This yarn comes in a reeled hank, which must be wound into a ball before use. We are happy to wind the yarn for you at no charge, but this does make the yarn non-returnable. If you would like your skeins wound, please request it in the "Shipping Instructions" box during the checkout process.
This yarn is eligible for the bulk discounts!
