Rapunzel I is a single-ply tussah silk. Tussah silk is made from the cocoons of the Antherea mylitta moth, which produces a honey-colored silk with high luster. Rapunzel I is a somewhat loosely-plied yarn, so abrasion may be a problem if it is used as a warp yarn, but it would be lovely in the weft.
This yarn comes in a reeled hank, which must be wound into a ball before use. We are happy to wind the yarn for you at no charge, but this does make the yarn non-returnable. If you would like your skeins wound, please request it in the "Shipping Instructions" box during the checkout process.
This yarn is eligible for the bulk discounts! When your order total, including all products, reaches $100, the yarn will receive a 10% discount, at $150, it will receive a 15% discount, and at $200, it will receive a 20% discount.
