If you have been longing to try a circular shawl but have hesitated because it sounded hard, fret no more! Let this extremely well-written pattern from Brooklyn Tweed take you through all the steps, thoroughly and methodically. Girasole is worked in the round from the center out in concentric circles. Each band is a different lace motif worked from a large, clear chart. The edging is worked flat and joined to the body of the shawl as you go. After blocking, the shawl measures approximately 51". The shawl can be hand washed and dried flat. Brooklyn Tweed has assigned this Jared Flood design a skill level rating of 3 out of 5.
Girasole uses Vale, a fingering weight wool from Brooklyn Tweed. It is a a worsted-spun 2-ply yarn with a smooth surface that shows pattern stitches off distinctly. It makes a lightweight but warm shawl.
The kit includes the pattern and yarn. For this project you will also need:
- 32" circular needles in US size 6 (OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE)

- crochet hook in size E-4 if using crocheted provisional cast on
- smooth waste yarn if using provisional cast on
