In order to discharge vat dyes from your fabric, you must use a reducing agent, the most common of which is thiourea dioxide. This lesson teaches how to apply discharge paste to the fabric, then how to properly steam and heat for good results. See how the various vat dyes with their different chemical properties cause some dyes to discharge better than others. Some colors completely discharge back to white, while others leave residual colors in the background. 60 minutes.
