Cotton CandyChris de Longpré has created a delightful collection of sweaters for kids 4-14 called Timeless Knits for Kids. It includes twelve sweaters for both boys and girls and all are so appealing, it was hard to pick one! We settled on this one because of its easy drop-shoulder shaping and an interesting eyelet pattern that extends into the ribbing. The body is knit from the bottom up in the round. At the armhole, it divides for shaping the front and back separately. The sleeves are worked flat from the cuff up. The shoulders are joined using a 3-needle bind-off and then the sleeves are attached. The simple rolled neckband is picked up and knit. Sizes run from 4 to 14. Finished chest measurements are 29 (31, 33.5, 36, 38.5)". Finished lengths are 20 (21, 22, 24 or 25.75, 26.75)". The 33.5" finished chest size has instructions for either a 24 or 25.75" length.
Cotton Candy is knit from Cascade 220 Superwash, a worsted weight 100% wool yarn. Don't let that scare you-- it can be machine washed and dried. It comes in a large range of colors that include solids and heathers in everything from neutrals to brights.
