The Corriedale breed originated in New Zealand, as Lincoln, English Leicester, and Merino sheep were interbred. This medium-fine wool is an excellent all-purpose fiber. The fiber diameter is 50-58's or 33-26 microns. The staple length is 3-5 inches and is well-crimped.
Corriedale is produced for both commercial and hand-knitting yarns. It drafts easily, so spinning instructors love it. It makes a firm, practical felt.
This wool can be dyed using Washfast dyes.
