This child's sweater uses a traditional Fair Isle motif but is made using a worsted weight yarn for a much quicker finish time. The back, front, and sleeves are knit separately using the Fair Isle method of stranding, then are seamed together. Stitches are picked up and worked for the collar. Melissa Leapman designed the sweater for Cascade 220 Superwash, a 100% wool yarn that is machine washable and has a soft hand. The sweater is sized for child's sizes 2 (4, 6, 8) with finished chest measurements of 26 (29, 32, 36)" and finished lengths of 14 (15, 16, 17)". It can be machine washed and dried flat.
The kit includes the pattern and the yarn. For this project you will also need:
- single point needles in US size 8 (OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE)
- single point needles in size 6
- tapestry needle
