Chestnut in Felted Tweed
Chestnut is a crocheted variation on the infinity loop, designed by Marie Wallin. It is a crocheted rectangle with the ends joined together to make a loop. You can drape it around your neck as a generous scarf, double-wrap the loop around your neck and head as a hood, or fit your arms through it and wear it like a shrug or vest. The scarf is made with a 4-row repeat, worked in various color combinations. When the scarf reaches its full length, the edges are joined to make a loop and then a 2-round edging is worked on both edges. The loop is 67 inches around and 16" wide. It can be gently machine washed and dried flat.
The scarf loop is knit from eight colors of Rowan's Felted Tweed, a blend of 50% Merino wool, 25% alpaca, and 25% rayon. The result is a soft, warm DK weight yarn. The colors are all tweeds, with fairly subtle flecks of color.
The kit includes the pattern and the yarn. For this project you will also need a crochet hook in size US 7 OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
