What a simple cable can do! This elegant A-line tunic has a stately single cable on both the front and the back set against a background of reverse stockinette. The cable is worked from written instructions. The front, back, and sleeves are worked separately and then joined. The cable stitches split at the neck to make the neckband, which is sewn in place once complete. The finished chest measurements are 35.5 (39.75, 43.25, 47.75, 51.25, 55.5)" with lengths at the back of 26.5 (27.25, 28.75, 30, 30.75, 31.5)". This sweater can be hand washed and dried flat.
If you haven't tried Willow, you should! It is a lofty, loosely spun yarn that is 94% Merino wool and 6% nylon. Because it has so much volume, it knits at a bulky gauge without much weight and the air trapped within the yarn makes for a warm fabric. It comes in heathered colors with subtle flecks of contrast color. And did we mention how soft it is?
The kit includes the pattern and yarn. For this project you will also need:
- single point needles in US size 11 (OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE)
- 2 cable needles
- stitch holders
- tapestry needle
