Bunny Hop Stuffed Toys in Lamb's Pride Worsted
Let this happy herd of rabbits cheer you up when the real thing has eaten all your radishes. Designed by Chris de Longpré, they are knit, mostly in the round, from the bottom up. The body and head are worked in one piece. The back and top of the head are knit flat, with stitches picked up at the neck to complete the face. The ears are knit separately and sewn on. The feet and arms are knit in the round and sewn on. The tail is a pom-pom. Instructions are also included for the clothing and items that the bunnies are holding. The large bunnies are 8.5" tall and the small bunnies are 7" tall, measured to the tips of the ears.
We are kitting this set of two large and three small bunnies using Lamb's Pride Worsted. It is a single-ply blend of 85% wool and 15% mohair. It can be hand washed and air dried.
The kit includes the pattern and yarn. For this project you will also need:
- double point needles in size US 6 OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
- tapestry needle
- poly-fill stuffing
- optional pom pom maker
NOTE: While Chris de Longpré used double point needles to knit her bunnies, you could also use two circular needles or one long circular needle, depending on the circular knitting technique you prefer.
