Simple, comfortable, and with an arresting use of color--Agnes is a modern classic. Its roomy fit is flattering and versatile so you'll be able to work it into your wardrobe in a variety of ways. The sweater is knit flat in pieces from the bottom up and then seamed. Instructions are given for two versions of the sleeves: the slim version shown here as well as a roomier version. there is subtle shaping to create a slight empire waist while short rows shape the shoulders. Once the sweater has been seamed, stitches are picked up and knit for the neckband. The sweater was designed to be worn with 8-10" of ease. Finished chest measurements are 40 (44, 48, 52, 56, 60)" with finished lengths of 20.5 (21, 22.25, 23, 24.25, 25)". It can be hand washed and dried flat. Brooklyn Tweed has assigned this Jared Flood design a skill level rating of 4 out of 5.
Agnes uses Brooklyn Tweed's fingering weight wool called Loft. Loft is a woolen-spun wool that has a soft, fuzzy texture after wet blocking and makes a warm sweater that is lightweight for its volume but with a lively, springy hand.
